About This Site
Outlander Fans was launched in September 2017 after I binged the first two seasons of Outlander on Netflix Canada while on Vacation.
I tend to research the actors when getting interested in a series and became fascinated with actors Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan. Among the research, I noticed that Sam was very much into fitness. Many of the photos looked like he was into CrossFit and after much more research, I came across the My Peak Challenge, which Sam founded to help charity as well as create a support system to help people live better and healthier lives. I reached out to MPC on twitter to find out more and already saw the amazing support system in place, which included many dedicated Outlander and Sam fans.
After careful consideration, the decision was made to launch Outlander Fans, to show my newfound love of an incredible series and an incredible fandom.
I live in Canada and work for the provincial government of New Brunswick. I’ve been running fan sites for 20 years (my first one being a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan site). I currently run Blood Falls: The Vampire Diaries & The Originals Fan Site. The site was launched in 2010 and is still going strong with millions of page views, 27,000+ followers on Twitter and 9000+ followers on Facebook. The site is also followed by various cast and crew on Twitter such as Paul Wesley, Julie Plec, Torrey DeVitto (who is now on Chicago Med), Chase Coleman, Rick Cosnett just to name a few. My years in the TVD fandom have been incredible to the point of attending 8 TVD Fan Conventions since 2011, watching Season 2 film in Covington, Georgia and also having dinner with Paul Wesley and Torrey DeVitto in LA in 2012. It’s been an incredible journey but it will soon to come to an end with The Originals entering their fifth and final season this year.
In my spare time (not much of it lol), I work on my websites, read, write, play music (voice, piano and a little bit of guitar), walk and spend time with my loving family. I’m also a bit of a guru when it comes to wine, beer and spirits (especially scotch and whisky).
Shannon is veteran of the United States Navy, a loving wife and mother of 2 grown children from Lousiana, United States. Her eldest is married to a lovely young woman and he is also serving as a Marine in the United States Marine Corps. I met Shannon online within The Vampire Diaries fandom back in 2010 and we’ve been friends ever since. We worked well as a team when we did various fundraising efforts and also share many common interests. Shannon swears she told me about Outlander a few years back, but I swear I don’t remember. I’m always late to the party lol!
Shannon will be helping out on the various Social Media accounts we have.
